Slater + Colton, 8 days old

Gorgeous little old men! :)

Bodhi + Eli, 9 days old

Little brothers, as different as 2 little boys born together can be! ;)

1 year later!

In January of 2009 I photographed my first set of newborn triplets. They were tiny and perfect, and I loved every single second of it, truly. They spoiled me, they were so easy!

And now, they are 1! Just as cute, if not more. If that were possible. :) Here they are, from left to right all grown up:

I have never seen a child that liked bubbles more than this!

And their beautiful big sister. :)

The happy family, I LOVE this!

A few announcements

Hello all! First and foremost, I need to announce the winner of my drawing for the 10×10 hardcover art book. I said I would announce it on Monday, and time has been slipping away fast with the big baby boom we are having right now. I am trying desperately to paste the code for the online generator I used and saved from Monday (I did actually do the drawing Monday!) but I think it saved incorrectly, because it isn’t showing up as anything except code of some some sort (I am not tech savvy, obviously). I’ll still work on figuring that out, but will also say that the winner is Alicia M. Congratulations to Alicia!!! We have not met yet, but I am sure we will have a fantastic session and I’ll be sure to share the book design here. HUGE THANKS to all who entered, I had a total of 10 entries, and those who did not win will also be getting a special surprise thank you gift with their order. :)

In other news, I am now already booking for late April and May, and that means the beginning of outdoor portraits for the year! Of course, my studio is always an option as well, and with the park area across the street, it gives many options for indoor/outdoor mixed sessions.

Finally, it may seem early, but I am already getting inquiries for it, so I guess it isn’t too early…I WILL in fact be doing the FREE outdoor newborn mini sessions for the month of July again this year. So if you or anyone you know is due in July, let me know if you would like to participate. I will most likely focus the entire month (it ends up being mid-July to mid-August) on these sessions again. Like last year, these sessions are on-location and short (last year they averaged 5-20 minutes each) and the focus is on getting 1-3 beautiful art pieces, of your newborn  (under 10 day old baby) in nature. These are not the normal full newborn sessions, and are for the baby/babies only. And of course all regular, full newborn sessions also have the option of getting outdoor shots as well. I work with each family individually to decide on colors and locations, likes and dislikes. I’m hoping everyone who participates will go big and get their piece on canvas, metal or another fine art medium to display in your home or nursery. As a visual artist, that is my goal. To create beautiful art that will be displayed! :) I had a fantastic time last year, with 9 newborns participating, and hope to add a few more this year.

I’m ending this post with a photo of my own children. Many clients who come into the studio ask if my own children are in the display pieces there (they are not), so I thought it would be nice to give these guys a little spotlight attention and share my family with my lovely clients who all welcome me into their lives. I’ll also say, it is more difficult for me to photograph my own children than to photograph yours! Something every mother/father probably feels to some extent, and of course why I have to hire other photographers to take my own family portraits. This is one I took the other day in my studio. My daughter is 7, and my sons are 5.5 and 2.5.

Tanner + Keira, 4 weeks old

This tiny little brother and sister duo were such good little models for me. Sister was half a pound bigger, but that is very pronounced when you are so tiny! But with Tanner’s very long limbs, he’ll be catching up in no time. Like a little puppy, right? :)

Here is a little glimpse of behind-the-scenes. On the left you can see how very little these guys are on my beanbag! On the right is the final portrait from the first image. Keira really liked to stretch out, haha.

Hazel and Esther, 1 and brand new.

Little Hazel just so happened to have beautiful hazel eyes. :)

Soooo sweet!

Newborn baby hands are my absolute favorite baby part. FAVORITE. I love toddler hands, and even big kid hands just as much. Heck, I love old, aged, worn and spotted hands too. The hands…they tell your story.

Miss Ella, 11 days old

A beautiful little pink princess, in the studio on a beautiful and sunny winter day.

Didn’t we have some gorgeous weather the last couple of weeks? Today it feels like winter again, blah! Well, it will give me time to catch up on blog posts, I’ve got several more waiting in the wings for anxious parents of their gorgeous little ones. :)

I love this black and white. There is nothing like that new baby bliss, is there?

I love how Ella really looks like a little bunny here, the little scrunchy smile:

Noel + Jude, 5 weeks old

Beautiful little brother and sister. :)

With happy big brother:

I love this eye contact:

Ella + Brooklyn + Evan

SO CUTE.

It was also good to get outside, if only for a minute. My studio is across the street from the Hillsboro courthouse, which I must say is a really gorgeous and park-like setting.

Big girls and little girls

I know one of the little girls likes to look on my blog, so HELLO Addie! :)

Big sisters, sweet and silly:

Little sisters. I love this one!

And the littles being thoughtful.

And a good old chaotic (real) family portrait, my favorite. :)
